Who are the participants in ESTG? Minimize

Individuals and companies involved in the research, development and manufacture of high technology products and the process by which they are fabricated participate in ESTG.  These industries include semiconductors, pharmacueticals, photovoltaics, biotechnology, building materials, automotive, aerospace and scientific research, to name a few.

How is ESTG different from other professional and trade associations? Minimize

Traditional professional societies are organized around a single scientific, technical or professional discipline.  The world has changed.  Today's technical professional can expect to change employers and technical specialties several times during a career.

Traditional trade associations have generally served a single industry.  In today's dynamic market place product life cycles are measured in months.  Whole industries grow up and pass into obsolencence in a few years.  Those working in the marketing and sales of technical products and services cannot rely on long term stable markets.

Technical professionals no longer work in silos that limit the scope of their work.  Everyone is involved in all aspects of the business enterprise: technology, business management, finance, and customer relationships.  ESTG is an association that transcends traditional professional and trade boundaries.  We provide a means for members of different discipline and technology oriented organizations to come together to solve today's technical and business related needs.  ESTG focuses on the tasks, products and technologies being worked on in particular locations in New York State.  Technical professionals need professional development resources that cannot be found in traditional professional societies.

Engineers and scientists and those marketing and selling technology products and services need a means maintain relationships as we all move rapidly from job to job and from one industry to another.  ESTG programs bring people together to maintain those bonds.

ESTG participants know that first and foremost, TECHNOLOGY IS A BUSINESS!

ESTG has Participants, not members Minimize

ESTG has no members in the traditional sense.  There are no dues.

An email based mailing list is maintained.  One gets on the list by registering as a user of this web site or by participating in an ESTG event.  One resigns, by asking to have his/her name removed from the list.

Fees are assessed for participation in events organized by ESTG.  The fees associated with each event cover the full cost of that event.

Governance Minimize

Because we are all so busy very few people have time to serve on voluntary boards.  ESTG is an informal collection of ad hoc committees that form for a particular purpose, complete it and then disband.

The Rivers Organization provides the administrative services that support ESTG.

If you would like ESTG to sponsor a program for ESTG to consider please present a plan including staffing and financing projections The Rivers Organization for consideration.
